My mom/sister/aunt/cousin is a Delta so I know I want to join!
We welcome your interest in joining the sorority and continuing the legacy. Please know that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. does not currently have a legacy clause and that relation to a current member does not increase your chances of joining.
I am a first generation student who does not know much about Greek life. Where can I find out more information?
We encourage you to attend events held by all members of the National PanHellenic Council here at Penn State to find out more about each individual organization’s values. The national and chapter websites are also incredible resources for finding out more information about each organization.
What is the appropriate way to ask about becoming a member?
Please be advised that there is a certain etiquette surrounding declaring your interest which you may have also heard described as discretion. While we encourage you to do self-guided research, you do not have to be well-versed on every aspect of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated to declare your interest. We are here to help you understand what the Organization has to offer and the ways in which you can be a valuable asset. However, discretion is a valued attribute in this journey. We require all interested persons to communicate their interest in the sorority privately to members only.
Ways NOT to communicate:
1. Social Media Timeline: While we do not mind contacting us through direct message, please do not declare your interest or inquire about joining via public timelines, walls, comment sections, etc.
2. Through A Friend/Family: We understand that there may be uncertainty when it comes to reaching out to strangers. However, new members are what keeps this Chapter running and moving forward. We want to hear from you. However, we want that conversation to happen between us and you. Please do not have your friend/family - whether Greek Life affiliated or not - contact us on your behalf.
3. Other Public Methods: If it can be seen, read, or heard by individuals who are not apart of the Chapter we ask that you do not use it to declare your interest or inquire for more information.
